Afrobeats superstar, Davido, has officially been confirmed as the only Nigerian to perform at the 2026 edition of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Also on the lineup for the Coachella next year are several A-list global stars including Justin Bieber, Karol G, and prominent acts like BIGBANG, FKA Twigs,
Sabrina Carpenter, The Strokes, David Byrne, and Disclosure. They are all expected to headline the Coachella.
This marks a historic moment as it’s the first time any of these artistes will take center stage at the celebrated event, which draws around 250,000 fans to the Californian desert.
The festival’s full lineup, revealed earlier this week, has ignited waves of excitement throughout the international music scene, and for lovers of African music, Davido’s appearance is particularly noteworthy.
This will not be Davido’s first encounter with the Coachella stage; the self-proclaimed Omo Baba Olowo (O.B.O) was originally scheduled to perform in 2019 but was unable due to scheduling conflicts. His rightful return in 2026 as a fully featured artiste in this star-studded lineup is being celebrated as an overdue recognition.
As the only Nigerian representative at Coachella 2026, Davido’s participation underscores the unstoppable ascent of Afrobeats on the global stage. With chart-toppers like Unavailable, Fall, and Feel, Davido has cultivated a diverse international fanbase.
Set to unfold over two weekends—April 10–12 and April 17–19, 2026, in Indio, California—Coachella 2026 promises to deliver one of its most eclectic lineups yet. Davido will grace the stage on both Saturdays—April 11 and April 18—showcasing his electrifying performance style at California’s Empire Polo Club. This highly anticipated appearance follows his ‘5IVE Alive Tour,’ which commenced in July and spans 12 venues across North America until November.
Adding to the festival’s allure, British-Nigerian rapper Little Simz, known for her afrocentric flair on tracks like Point and Kill, will also perform. Having transitioned from a cult figure to a crossover sensation, her critically-acclaimed projects have been bolstered by her notable acting on Top Boy. Expect unforgettable performances from her on Sundays, April 12 and 19.
The remarkable British-Kenyan pop star PinkPantheress is also set to take to the stage on Saturdays, April 11 and April 18, known for her engaging performances. As this will be her first appearance at Coachella, she’s sure to make a memorable mark. Sabrina Carpenter will kick off the festival on Friday, followed by Bieber and Karol G headlining Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Earlier this year, African artists including Tyla, Seun Kuti, and Amaarae captivated audiences at Coachella 2025 with their unique performances. With a rich lineup expected for next year’s festival, Coachella’s reputation for showcasing diverse talent is only set to grow.
