Nigerian singer Crayon has sparked speculation about a possible exit from Mavin Records after unleashing a fiery rant on X on Sunday evening, where he appeared to call out the label’s leadership.
In a series of now-viral posts, the 28-year-old singer — born Charles Chibueze Chukwu — mixed praise with sharp criticism while name-dropping Don Jazzy, founder of the label, and its chief operating officer Tega Oghenejobo.
Crayon began his outburst with a confusing tone that blended camaraderie and aggression.
“Don Jazzy na my boy!!!!!! Una dey maddddd!!?? Shayennnnn sharayyyyyy333,” he wrote, before turning his attention to the label executive, adding: “Tega highest criminal!!!!!!!!!”
The Lagos-born artiste, who was signed to Blowtime Entertainment, an imprint of Mavin Records, in May 2019, escalated the rant by declaring, “Mavin is going down!!!!!!”
He also appeared to take a swipe at the label’s biggest star, Rema, writing: “Rema for the next 100 years no feature. You stole my star from me. Yeah I took that shiiiiii backkkkk… Snakkkkkkkeeeeeesssssssss.”
Crayon’s posts have since stirred intense reactions among fans online, with many speculating about internal tensions within the label and whether the singer is preparing to leave the imprint.
