Ghanaian actress, Salma Mumin, has cried out about the sharp criticisms over her Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), saying the constant commentary about her body has gone too far.
In a post on her official Instagram page, she said “The constant commentary about my body has gone too far. Words are not harmless. Words have power to affect a person mentally, emotionally, and psychologically in ways many people underestimate.”
She said doing a BBL was a personal choice, one that she wanted for herself and no one else.
According to her, “I made a personal decision about my body. I changed how I looked because I wanted to. Because I did not like how I looked before. I did it for me. Not for public approval. Not for opinions. Not to meet anyone’s preference.”
She stressed that “whether my BBL is obvious or not, whether it fits what you would have chosen for yourself or not, it is what I wanted. And that should be enough.”
She bemoaned that “what is unacceptable is turning personal opinions into cruelty, mockery, and constant judgment. No one deserves to be spoken about in ways that chip away their peace and wellbeing.”
She urged that “people begin to understand the weight their words carry. Speak with more care. Speak with more humanity.”
