Two co-wives in Zambia have been charged for allegedly trying to bribe police officers to secure the release of their husband, who was detained for allegedly defiling his 10-year-old daughter.

The women, local media reports say, wanted to have their 43-year-old husband released from Kabwata Police Station where he was held on allegations that he sexually abused his 10-year-old daughter, believed to be infected with HIV.
Lusaka magistrate Anna Vomvas Holland found them with a case to answer this morning, and has placed them on their defence.
