Former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has reportedly agreed to take over as Inter Milan’s manager following Simone Inzaghi’s departure. Inzaghi left San Siro after Inter concluded the season without trophies, highlighted by a 5-0 defeat to PSG in the Champions League final.
Fabregas and Roberto De Zerbi were the top candidates to replace Inzaghi, but with De Zerbi staying in Ligue 1, Inter have finalized personal terms with Fabregas. The former midfielder, who has been managing Como for two years, led the club to promotion in his first season and a 10th-place finish in Serie A this season. Inter now need to negotiate a compensation fee with Como to complete the appointment.
