American rapper, Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar Cephus, known professionally as Cardi B, says she’s bringing an end to her feature run.

Speaking to Vogue Mexico, Cardi B observed that she’s now ready to do solo music.

During the interview, the ‘WAP’ rapper announced that she was done with collaborations.

She said “I’m not going to release any more collaborations. I’m going to put out my next solo single,” saying that “Right now I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up.”

The ‘I Like It’ singer added that “Everyone always tells me I should put the record out now, they did when I released “WAP” and when I released “Up”, but I always let them know I’m not going to wait long after all these singles. So stay tuned because it’s coming out very soon.”

Touching on what she intends to do aside music, Cardi B told Vogue “I also have plans in the world of cinema. In fact, I have plans to do everything I can: fashion, branding, I want to do it all, honey.”

Collaborations

Cardi B has over the years collaborated with several of her fellow stars in both the Latin and North American music industries. They include Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, 21 Savage, DJ Khaled, Jennifer Lopez, Kehlani, Migos, Chance the Rapper, Rita Ora, SZA, Ozuna and Selena Gomez.

After starting her music career in 2015, Cardi B went on to release her first studio album, “Invasion of Privacy’ in 2018. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and was ranked the top female rap album of the 2010s by Billboard, making Cardi B the first female artist to win the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album as a solo artist, and marked the first female rap album in 15 years nominated for Album of the Year. It spawned two number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100; with “Bodak Yellow”, its lead single, Cardi B became the first female rapper to top the Hot 100 with a solo song in the 21st century and the first to achieve a diamond-certified song by the RIAA, while “I Like It” marked the first time a female rapper attained multiple number-one songs on the Hot 100.

Cardi B’s third Hot 100 number-one, the collaboration “Girls Like You” with band Maroon 5, made her the only female rapper to achieve multiple diamond-certified songs by the RIAA. She has since released two singles: “WAP”, featuring Megan Thee Stallion in 2020 and “Up” in 2021, both of which topped the Hot 100 and other charts worldwide.
