A car crash on the Yamoransa-Cape Coast highway in Ghana has left one person dead and 18 others injured.
The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, September 23, 2025. It happened when a Mercedes Sprinter bus with registration number CR 624-25, heading towards Cape Coast, collided with a stationary Man Diesel truck with registration number WR 1546-V parked in from of the regional office of Ghana’s ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
A rescue team from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) rushed to the scene and managed to free three passengers who had been trapped in the mangled bus.
However, one of the victims was confirmed dead on the spot.
The remaining 18 passengers sustained varying degrees of injury and were transported to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, the Man Diesel truck had broken down and was left on the road due to a mechanical fault.
Eyewitnesses said the Sprinter bus, while attempting to overtake another vehicle, rammed into the stationary truck, leading to the crash.
