Nigerian music powerhouse Burna Boy has achieved yet another international milestone, as his viral hit “Alone” has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The track, which was featured on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, has officially sold over 500,000 units in the United States.
Released in November 2022, “Alone” quickly resonated with global audiences, blending Burna Boy’s signature Afro-fusion sound with the emotionally charged themes of the film. This latest achievement further cements his status as a global Afrobeats ambassador.
This Gold certification follows a series of record-breaking accolades for Burna Boy. In March 2023, his smash hit “Last Last” was certified Platinum in the U.S., making him the first African artist to have two solo songs reach Platinum status in America. His 2018 classic “Ye” also went Gold in the U.S. in January 2023.
Beyond the U.S., “Alone” has continued to make waves globally. The song was certified Gold in France in September 2023, surpassing 15 million digital streams, and achieved Silver certification in the UK by January 2024.
As Burna Boy teases his next album, his latest accomplishment reaffirms his unstoppable rise in the global music industry.
