Paul Biya and Brenda Biya
Brenda Biya, daughter of Cameroon’s long-serving president Paul Biya, has publicly called on Cameroonians not to vote for her father in the upcoming October 2025 election.
Speaking during a TikTok Live session, Brenda—who goes by the name “King Nasty” online—blamed her father’s 43-year rule for the country’s persistent poverty, high unemployment, and lack of progress.
This marks an unprecedented moment in African political history: the first time a sitting president’s child has openly opposed their parent’s rule and urged citizens to vote against them.
Paul Biya, 92, is one of the world’s longest-serving heads of state. His presidency has long been criticized for authoritarian practices, widespread corruption, and disputed elections.
However, critics point out that Brenda, who lives a lavish lifestyle abroad, has had a reportedly strained relationship with her family. This has raised questions about whether her criticism reflects broader public sentiment or personal grievances.
