The 2025/26 Sierra Leone Premier League season kicked off this weekend with a mix of fireworks and frustration as clubs across Sierra Leone battled for early momentum. With six matches played, fans were treated to thrilling wins, tight contests, and a few cagey stalemates that hint at a long, competitive season ahead.
Bo Rangers were the standout performers, storming past Kamboi Eagles with a convincing 3-0 victory in Bo. Their attacking play was sharp and confident, making them early favorites in the title race. FC Kallon also impressed, defeating Mighty Blackpool 3-1 in a lively encounter that showcased their attacking depth and hunger for success this campaign.
Elsewhere, Bai Bureh Warriors and Abacha City shared a 1-1 draw, while three matches ended without a single goal: Ports Authority vs Luawa FC, Bhantal FC vs Bullom Stars, and Old Edwardians vs Diamond Stars. These goalless results suggest that while some teams are still warming up, defensive discipline is already a key theme.
The action continues on tomorrow and on Tuesday when reigning champions East End Lions begin their campaign against Freetown City FC. With the first week now behind us, the race is officially underway—and every club knows that every point counts.
