BNXN Blasts Organizers, Apologizes After Fans Denied Entry to Sold-Out Lagos Concert

Afrobeats star BNXN has reacted strongly after several fans were denied entry into his Lagos 2025 concert on Friday, December 19, 2025, despite holding valid tickets. The incident has sparked a major conversation about accountability and safety within Nigeria’s live music scene.

In a heartfelt statement, the singer apologized to those affected and condemned the event organizers, accusing them of putting financial gain ahead of the well-being of his supporters.

Apology to Fans and Condemnation of Organizers

BNXN expressed deep regret over the situation, making it clear that the chaos at the venue did not align with his values or his relationship with his audience.

“The show organizers prioritized profit over the safety of the fans and it should never have been so,” BNXN said. “I am so sorry to everyone who had valid entry and still couldn’t make it into the show. I’d never want to put anyone that loves me or my music in that kind of reckless position.”

Accusations of Greed and Overselling

The artist specifically pointed to the overselling of tickets as the primary cause of the congestion and safety risks. He called out the organizers for failing to close purchase links once capacity was reached.

“If tickets are sold out, close the purchase link,” he added. “It could all be so simple but for that extra… that ‘just a little more’… that greed… Super unfair.”

Context of the Incident

Reports from the venue indicated that massive crowds gathered outside the entrance, with many ticket-holding fans stranded due to capacity issues. The situation raised immediate concerns regarding crowd control and professional event planning during the peak “Detty December” concert season in Lagos.

The incident has prompted calls from the public for stricter regulations on concert ticketing and higher safety standards at large-scale entertainment events to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
