Sunjay Kapur, an Indian billionaire businessman and friend of Prince Williams, has died from anaphylactic shock after reportedly swallowing a bee during a Windsor Polo match.
According to The Telegraph and The Mirror, Kapur, age 53, died after collapsing during the Polo match in England.
Reports say Kapur, the Chairman of car parts giant, Sona Comstar, was stung in the mouth by the bee.
The late billionaire is the ex-husband of Bollywood actress, Karisma Kapoor. They had two children.
The Telegraph reported Kapur as saying before his death that “I have swallowed something.”
Anaphylaxis causes the immune system to release chemicals that can cause a person to go into shock. “Blood pressure drops suddenly, and the airways narrow, blocking breathing. Signs and symptoms include a rapid, weak pulse; a skin rash; and nausea and vomiting. Common triggers include certain foods, some medications, insect venom and latex,” says the Mayo Clinic.
