Following an unsuccessful attempt to sign Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, FC Barcelona have set their sights on Liverpool’s Colombian winger Luis Díaz as their main transfer target for the 2025 summer window.
Reports indicate that Barcelona are intensifying their pursuit of the 28-year-old, with plans to make a new approach in the coming weeks. Despite having two previous proposals rejected by Liverpool, the Catalan giants remain focused on Díaz to bolster their left wing, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Díaz is reportedly keen on the move, viewing Barcelona as an appealing next step in his career.
Since joining Liverpool in January 2022, Díaz has consistently impressed with his technical skill, pace, and attacking flair, qualities that align with Barcelona’s tactical vision under manager Hansi Flick.
However, securing Díaz’s signature will be challenging. Liverpool, the reigning Premier League champions, have rejected two prior approaches and are reluctant to part with a key attacking asset without a substantial offer. Barcelona’s ongoing financial constraints will also require careful deal structuring.
