Ghanaian entertainment executive and politician, Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu, has been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as Ghana’s ambassador to Nigeria.
Baba Sadiq’s appointment follows the recent recall of then ambassador, Baba Jamal.
Baba Jamal was recalled by President Mahama as Ghana’s ambassador to Nigeria after he contested in the Ayawaso East Constituency by-election after the death of MP Nasser Mahama Toure.
Baba Sadiq’s appointment was announced in a post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

Baba Sadiq was the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei Central in the 2024 general election.
He is expected to represent Ghana’s interests in Nigeria and work to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.
