Eight out of the 10 persons accused of tying up and robbing American billionaire reality TV star, Kim Kardashian, at gunpoint have been found guilty in a Paris Court in the $10 million robbery trial.
According to local French media and BBC reports, four of the accused persons who took part in the robbery were given prison sentences of up to eight years, but that most of these terms were suspended.
Two of the accused were reportedly acquitted. As earlier reported, nine men and a woman were accused of robbing Kim Kardashian of $10 million worth of jewelry, including a $4 million diamond engagement ring gifted to her by her former husband, Kanye West. The robbery took place during the Paris Fashion Week back in 2016.
In a statement after the verdict, Kim Kardashian said “The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family.”
She added “While I will never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all.”
What Kim Kardashian said in court
Kim Kardashian appeared before the court in Paris on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 to testify against the 10 alleged robbers who allegedly tied her up and robbed her at gunpoint.
She told the court that she “absolutely thought” she was going to be killed or raped by the suspected burglars who robbed her at gunpoint in her hotel room during the Paris Fashion Week back in 2016.
She said in her emotional testimony to the court that “I absolutely thought I was going to die. I kept telling them I have babies and I need to get home to my babies.”
The burglars allegedly tied her up and robbed her at gunpoint. According to Kim, she told them that “I have babies, I have to make it home, I have babies.”
Facing her alleged attackers for the first time since the incident, Kim detailed how she was robbed of nearly $10 million in cash and jewelry, including a $4 million engagement ring – gifted to her by her former husband Kanye West – that was never recovered.
Kardashian was mostly calm during her testimony, which lasted for over two hours, but was on occasions reduced to tears as she described how the burglary had upended her life and changed how she organizes her security.
The defendants – nine men and one woman whose ages range from 35 to 78 – are facing charges including armed robbery, kidnapping and conspiracy. Eight of them deny involvement, while two have pleaded guilty to some of the charges.
Kardashian arrived at court in the French capital with her mother, Kris Jenner, wearing a diamond-encrusted necklace – in a seeming nod to the jewels taken from her on the night of the burglary.
‘I Thought It Was Terror Attack‘
On the night in October 2016, Kim – who was in court with her celebrity mother, Kris Jenner – recalled being woken up by her attackers and at first not knowing what the men were demanding.
According to Kim, “There was a lot of terrorist attacks happening in the world” around the time and “I thought that’s what it was.”
Gun pressed
Kim told the court that after
the men had rifled through her jewelry box and snatched the engagement ring by the side of her bed, one of them pressed a gun to her back and bound her hands together with a zip tie, recalling that she was “hysterical,” and begged the robbers to let her live.
Rape Fear
Having been woken up while wearing just a bathrobe, Kim told the court that she feared the men would rape her, saying “I was naked under the robe. Everything was exposed and I was sure he was going to rape me. I said a prayer and got ready for it to happen… but he closed my legs and taped them.”
According to her, she feared she would be killed – and that her sister, Kourtney, and friend, Simone Harouche, who was sleeping in an adjoining room downstairs, would have to find her body.
She noted that: “I knew… they’d see that… that I’d be on the bed, shot dead on the bed and they would see that and have that in their brain forever.”
Key Witness’ Testimony
Also in court on Tuesday was Simone Harouche, a childhood friend of Kim Kardashian and key witness in the trial. Kim and Simone have known each other since the age of 12, according to CNN.
Simone told the court how the reality TV star had begged her burglars to “take everything” and spare her life.
The key witness testified in court through an interpreter, saying she had go to sleep in a room downstairs from the room of Kim Kardashian. She said she was woken by the sounds of the robbery on Kim, saying “I know her [Kim Kardashian] very well. I know her sounds, her mannerisms. So when I heard this sound, it was very different. It woke me up from my sleep – because it was a sound I had never heard from Kim. It was terror.”
Simone told the court that she heard Kim appealing to the burglars, saying: “I have babies and I need to live. Take everything.”
According to Simone, due to fear that the burglars may enter her room next, she locked herself up in the bathroom, moving on to text Kim Kardashian’s sister, Kourtney, and her bodyguard, Pascal Duvier.
