Ghana: Mahama to Begin Nationwide Tour to Inspect Projects and Engage Communities

President John Dramani Mahama is set to begin a nationwide tour on March 18 aimed at personally assessing ongoing government projects and reconnecting with communities across Ghana.

The initiative, known as the “Resetting Ghana Tour,” is designed to give the President a first-hand look at development efforts while also creating space for direct interaction with citizens, traditional leaders, and local stakeholders.

The tour will kick off in the Bono Region, where Mahama will be joined by government officials, including regional ministers and district leaders, to inspect project sites and evaluate their progress.

According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the exercise reflects the President’s belief in leading from the front rather than relying solely on reports from ministers. He explained that Mahama wants to see the situation on the ground for himself and engage directly with the people affected by government policies.

Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has also been involved in preparations, underscoring the importance of the tour in shaping government priorities and communication.

Beyond inspections, the tour is expected to serve as a platform for dialogue. Community leaders, chiefs, and opinion influencers will have the opportunity to share concerns, feedback, and expectations directly with the President and his team.

Officials say the broader goal is to strengthen transparency, improve accountability, and ensure that national development efforts are aligned with the needs of ordinary Ghanaians.

The “Resetting Ghana Tour” is expected to continue across multiple regions in the coming weeks, with updates likely to be shared as the President moves from one part of the country to another.
