At least four children have been stabbed to death in a nursery school in Uganda, police have said.
Police said the children were stabbed to death by a man in Kampala, the capital of Uganda.
In a post on X on Thursday, April 2, 2026, Ugandan police said “We confirm a tragic incident at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program school, in Makindye Division Kampala City where a male suspect brutally stabbed and killed four juveniles.”
Ugandan news outlet, Daily Monitor, reported that “Eyewitnesses say the suspect disguised himself as a parent and first entered the school offices, where he briefly engaged the administrator in charge.”
The report said “He later stepped outside, locked the gate, and began attacking the children one after another.”
According to the Daily Monitor, the alleged attacker was stopped by a security guard from a neighbourhood church, describing the area as an “upmarket suburb of Kampala”.
Police noted on X that “The suspect has been apprehended.”
