A three-storey building under construction has collapsed close to the Roman Ridge Engineering Centre in Accra, the capital of Ghana.

The building collapsed on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

At least 14 construction workers were rescued and are said to be in critical condition.

The site where the building collapsed is reportedly managed by Fabrico Builders, located between a 10-storey high-rise apartment and the Ghana Institute of Engineering at Roman Ridge.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said it received a distress call around 12:18 p.m., prompting an immediate response from a rescue team from its National Headquarters. The team was led by ADO II Ankrah. It arrived at the scene at 12:29 p.m.

GNFS said all 14 workers who are believed to be male construction workers, were successfully rescued and transported to the 37 Military Hospital and Ridge Hospital for medical treatment.
