10 People Killed In Clashes Over Land In Ghana’s Savannah Region

 

At least 10 people have reportedly been killed in clashes resulting from alleged land disputes in Ghana’s Savannah Region.

The clashes in Gbenyiri, a farming community in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District, also left 12 people injured.

According to reports, the clashes have been triggered by a longstanding dispute.

On Sunday, August 24, 2025, reports indicated that five men were killed. Six others sustained injuries on the same day during an exchange of gunfire.

Police and military personnel have been deployed in the area to restore law and order.
