Vivies Dance and Theatre Academy To Host  “Addiction” 

 

The Senior Dance Company of Vivies Dance and Theatre Academy (VDTA) will be holding “Addiction”, an electrifying dance theatre show this September.

Addiction is thought-provoking performance which seeks to shed light on the entangling lifestyles that have a negative impact on individuals in the Ghanaian society, both physically and mentally.

The dance theatre piece into various addictive habits that plague the Ghanaian society, including drug addiction, sex addiction, addiction to phones and social media, obsession with fashion, and the thirst for power. Through the medium of dance and theatre, the Senior Dance Company aims to create awareness about these destructive habits and their consequences.

Vivies Dance and Theatre Academy, known for its commitment to addressing social issues through the arts, is using this production as a means to positively impact society. By showcasing the detrimental effects of addiction, the Academy hopes to encourage dialogue and understanding surrounding these issues.

The performance of “Addiction” will take place at Alliance Francaise on the 29th and 30th of September 2023, starting at 7pm. The Academy plans to utilize the proceeds from these shows to take the production into schools and other communities, further spreading the message and raising awareness about addiction.
