Senegal Launches 2050 National Agenda For Transformation, An Ambitious Development Plan

 

West African nation, Senegal, has outdoored an ambitious development plan, “Senegal 2050: National Agenda for Transformation.”

The plan, launched on Monday at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center, aims to reduce the country’s dependency on foreign debt.

It also seeks to triple the country’s per capital income to $4,500, and ensure sustainable economic growth.

‘Senegal 2050’ further focuses on strengthening governance, sustainable regional development, human capital enhancement, and creating a competitive, job-creating economy.

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye launched the plan which has a targeted annual growth rate of 6 – 7 percent, emphasizing poverty reduction, social inclusion, and territorial development.

The “Senegal 2050: National Agenda For Transformation”, is an important step towards a more sovereign, inclusive and competitive future for Senegal.
