Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat singer Kuami Eugene has expressed his sadness and concern over the lack of streetlights on roads at night.
In a recent interview, Kuami Eugene, who is also known as the “Rockstar,” lamented the state of Ghana’s roads, particularly at night, where the absence of streetlights makes it difficult and dangerous for motorists and pedestrians to navigate.
“I’m really saddened by the lack of streetlights on our roads at night,” Kuami Eugene said. “It’s a major concern for me, and I think it’s something that needs to be addressed urgently.”
Kuami Eugene, who has been involved in several road safety campaigns, emphasized the importance of streetlights in preventing accidents and ensuring the safety of road users.
“Streetlights are not just a luxury, they’re a necessity,” he said. “They help to illuminate the road, reduce the risk of accidents, and make it easier for people to move around at night.”
The singer-songwriter also called on the government and relevant authorities to take immediate action to address the issue.
“I’m calling on the government and the relevant authorities to fix the streetlights on our roads,” Kuami Eugene said. “It’s a simple thing that can make a big difference in the lives of Ghanaians.”
Kuami Eugene’s comments have resonated with many Ghanaians, who have taken to social media to share their own experiences and frustrations with the lack of streetlights on Ghanaian roads.
The singer’s advocacy on road safety and infrastructure is not new. He has been a vocal advocate for improved road conditions and safety measures, and has used his platform to raise awareness and mobilize support for these causes.
