Ghanaian gospel artist Selina Boateng has firmly stated that all her accolades have been rightfully earned, emphasizing her dedication and hard work in the country’s music industry.
In an exclusive interview on UTV’s Ucook show with her colleague Empress Gifty, she stated, “I’ve never bought an award; every award I’ve earned, I truly deserved.”
When asked about her favorite awards, Selina highlighted two special moments from the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). She won Gospel Song of the Year in 2012 for her hit song “Minku Me Ho,” which marked a significant achievement in her career.

Additionally, she proudly mentioned winning the same award for “Alpha and Omega,” featuring Uncle Ato, in another year.
During the conversation, the gospel music diva was also asked about her preference between the digitalization of music and the old ways of CDs. She stated that she prefers CDs, wishing for a return to those days, as they brought in more money compared to digital formats.
