Ghanaian Youths In Ho Introduced to The Future of The Internet

Some students and tech enthusiasts in Ho the Volta Regional Capital have been introduced to Web 3 which is the future of the internet. The event aimed to introduce participants to Web3 technology and guide them in deploying smart contracts using the Celo blockchain.

The event was organized by Celo, a Blockchain company that enables users in regions where mobile phones are prevalent to access the blockchain, and had over 75 participants in attendance.

Participants were introduced to the basics of Web3 and got hands-on experience with blockchain technology. They were also trained on how to use the emerging new era of the internet. 54 trainees out of the 75 participants successfully deployed their smart contracts which is a major achievement for those just beginning their journey into this new digital landscape.

Some participants who were interviewed after the event said it was an eye-opener as it showed them just how much potential Web3 has to change the way we use the internet. It also provides students with practical skills that will be valuable as they continue to explore and work with this emerging technology.

One of the participants attested that events like these are crucial in helping young people understand and get involved in the next big thing in tech. As Web3 grows, it’s exciting to see students in Ho taking such important steps toward becoming the tech leaders of tomorrow.

According to Wikipedia “Web3 (also known as Web 3.) is an idea for a new iteration of the World Wide Web which incorporates concepts such as decentralization, blockchain technologies, and token-based economics. Some technologists and journalists have contrasted it with Web 2 wherein they say data and content are centralized in a small group of companies sometimes referred to as “Big Tech”.”
