Lagos, Nigeria – December 15, 2024 – The highly anticipated 45th edition of the Miss Nigeria pageant is set to take place on December 19, 2024, at a grand ceremony in Lagos, with a bold new vision that goes beyond traditional beauty standards. This year’s pageant, organized by The Audrey Silva Company (TASC) and spearheaded by Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Rita Dominic, aims to showcase unity, diversity, and female empowerment under the theme “Beyond Beauty: Reigning Together as Queens.”
In a significant departure from previous years, the pageant has emphasized inclusivity and accessibility, waiving entry fees to ensure that women from all walks of life can participate. The organizers have also partnered with an airline sponsor to cover travel expenses, meals, and accommodation for the contestants throughout the competition.
The pageant’s 33 contestants, representing Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, will come together to celebrate the country’s rich cultural diversity and showcase beauty in all its shades and backgrounds. In preparation for the finale, the contestants will participate in a two-week camping program, which includes mentorship, skills development, and cultural activities.
According to Rita Dominic, the pageant’s vision is to inspire unity and empower women to embrace their individuality. “We want to inspire unity. Regardless of where you are from, it is possible to embrace one another. We are united, and we have to show that,” she said.
