61 People Killed In Brazil Passenger Plane Crash

Some 61 passengers, all said to be carrying Brazilian traveling documents, have died in a passenger plane crash in Brazil.

The crash happened outside Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Friday afternoon, August 9, 2024, according to Brazilian authorities.

Voepass, the airline which operated the Crash plane, stated that the cause of the accident was still unclear as at Friday.

The plane was reportedly traveling from Cascavel, in the Brazilian state of Parana, to Sao Paulo.

Reports say the plane crashed precisely in a residential area in Vinhedo, Brazil.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, had in a speech after the crash says “I would like everyone to stand up so that we can observe a minute of silence because a plane has just crashed in the city of Vinhedo, in Sao Paulo, with 58 passengers and 4 crew members and it appears they all died.”

The flight 2283 reportedly lost signal shortly before 1:30pm local time (12:30pm ET), according to data on Flightradar24.
